Fortnite Wrecked Chapter 5: Season 3 Out Now
The latest season of Fortnite, titled Fortnite Wrecked, is out now. It merges Mad Max and Fallout with new skins, vehicles, weapons, and areas of the map. Coinciding with the launch of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Chapter 5: Season 3 brings some big vehicle upgrades and improvements for players of the battle royale. game Wrecked will run until August 16, so players have just short of three months.
The new Fortnite series has a dystopian, dieselpunk setting with the Island being turned into a Wasteland. It is heavily themed on both Mad Max and Fallout.
Fortnite Wrecked Setting
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the fifth film in the Mad Max series. It launched in theaters in the U.S. on May 24. It is a prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road and stars Anya Tylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. The series is set in The Wasteland and features heavily modded vehicles, as well as unique weapons and characters.
Fallout started out as a video game franchise. Its success has led to board games, tabletop roleplaying games, and the massively popular Fallout TV series. Its main backdrop is also called The Wasteland, and it is known for its power armor and unique weaponry. The Fallout TV series has seen the franchise reinvigorated and reached new audiences.
Both the Mad Max and Fallout franchises are very popular at the moment, and Fortnite publishers Epic Games have combined the two for their latest update to the battle royale game.
What’s New?
New areas on the map include Redline Rig, Nitrodrome, and Brutal Beachhead, each with its own formidable opponent. Other areas have also seen some cosmetic and general changes, brought about by the sandstorm that led to the new series.
New items include Nitro Barrels that give speed and strength boosts to players and vehicles. Nitro Barrels erupt and then explode, and Nitro Fists offer strong punch combos to wearers.
In true Mad Max style, players can mod vehicles with new skins and upgrades. Vehicle mods include off-road tires, spiked bumpers, and machine gun or grenade launcher turrets. Cow catchers have also made a comeback for the series.
Moddable crossbows and some unique weapons have also been added, along with the T-60 Power Armor suit, with the latter available for Battle Pass subscribers.
Fortnite Wrecked Available Now
Fortnite Wrecked looks like a pretty decent upgrade, especially for fans of Mad Max, and those desperate to don T-60 Power Armor in a fight in the Wasteland. There’s also a new car body for Rocket Racing players, if that’s your thing.
