A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves the World Available Now With PlayStation Plus
Sony has launched its PlayStation Plus games for January 2024, with a solid line-up consisting of A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves the World. This month, members also gain access to a PS Plus exclusive Warframe pack.
The lineup is free to download for PlayStation Plus members and replaces Lego 2K Drive, Powerwash Simulator, and Sable, so if you missed those titles over the festive break, tough.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
The award-winning sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence is a harrowing, rat-filled action adventure that was released in 2022. Players take on the role of older sister Amicia as she seeks answers to her brother’s illness.
The game looks and sounds incredible and its story is immersive. It feels like a challenge to get through it but not because of the game’s difficulty. Despite all appearances, it’s actually not that challenging in that respect, but it is dark and incredibly pessimistic. By the time players have finished the 20 to 30 hours it takes to finish, they will likely have a jaded view of humanity.
A Plague Tale: Requiem scores 82 and 8.3 on Metacritic, which makes it generally favorable.
Evil West
Evil West is a little shorter than Plague Tale: Requiem. It is a brawler. You punch stuff, hit stuff, and upgrade stuff. But, while the gameplay is somewhat limited and incredibly linear, what it does, it does well.
Most will enjoy the 15 hours or so running around beating ticks, or vampires, and their familiars. If you’re into world-building game lore, then you will especially enjoy picking up the seemingly endless collectibles. As well as having a fun story, the cut scenes aren’t overly long, so they don’t drag you away from the action.
Evil West scores 73 and 7.6, or mixed to generally favorable, on Metacritic.
Nobody Saves The World
Nobody Saves The World is a dungeon-crawling RPG in which players take on the eponymous role of Nobody. Like most dungeon crawlers, there is a lot of grind, but the grind is fun in this title. The fighting and enemies are fairly basic, but the combination of attack types and their effects makes it fun.
In the game, players take on various forms from the typical Ranger class to the very atypical Snail form. They all have their uses and are all fun. It’s a fun, light-hearted, and surprisingly tricky game that makes a good addition to January’s gaming pile.
Metacritic gives Nobody Saves The World 79 and 7.1, representing generally favorable and mixed reviews.
Warframe Content
As part of this month’s PS Plus subscription, Warframe players can also pick up the Syrinx Collection. The pack includes a variety of gear and weapons including the Cassowar Polearm and the Baza Rifle.
Warframe is a free-to-play third-person shooter. It’s been around for nearly a decade and there is a lot of content available. The Syrinx collection, though, is exclusive to PS Plus members.
